Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Most Recommended Books, LLC, doing business as BetterLink ("BetterLink," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the BetterLink website and services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use BetterLink.

1. About BetterLink

BetterLink provides link-management tools, including Amazon storefront localization, mobile deep linking, click analytics, custom short links, and YouTube link migration. The Smart Router's preserve-mode proxy is limited to supported Amazon destinations. A managed BetterLink may instead redirect to another valid HTTP or HTTPS destination and record aggregate click analytics without adding an Amazon affiliate tag.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use BetterLink. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using BetterLink on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

To use BetterLink, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared with others. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Subscription and Billing

Pricing and Renewal

Current plan prices, included usage, overage rates, and optional add-ons are shown on our pricing page and checkout screens. Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month until canceled. By subscribing, you authorize BetterLink and its payment providers to charge the displayed subscription price, add-ons, usage charges, and applicable taxes. We may change pricing prospectively with notice to affected subscribers.

Billing Cycle

Subscription fees are billed at the beginning of each monthly billing period. Usage-based click overages are measured from BetterLink's service records and billed after the applicable usage period. Dashboard totals may be delayed or differ from third-party reports because of filtering, retries, blockers, or reporting time zones.

Payment

Stripe and its affiliates process payments. When Managed Payments applies, Link may act as merchant of record for the transaction. If payment fails, we may limit or suspend paid features until payment is received. Taxes and transaction support are handled as described at checkout and by the applicable payment provider.

Cancellation

You may cancel through the billing portal or by contacting us. Unless applicable law or the checkout screen says otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. After paid access ends, managed links may continue to resolve to their stored destination or a policy-safe direct Amazon fallback, but dynamic localization, mobile deep linking, and BetterLink click logging may stop.

Refunds

Subscription fees, add-ons, and usage charges are generally non-refundable, including for partial periods, unused features, or inactive accounts, except where required by applicable law or where BetterLink expressly approves a refund. Nothing in these Terms limits a non-waivable cancellation, withdrawal, refund, or consumer remedy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use BetterLink only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You may not:

Use the service to violate any applicable law or regulation
Create links that redirect to illegal, fraudulent, or harmful content
Attempt to circumvent usage limits, billing, or security measures
Use automated means to access the service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use
Resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties without authorization
Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers connected to it
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service

6. Destinations and Affiliate Compliance

You are responsible for every URL, shortcode, domain, tag, and other material you submit; for confirming that each destination is lawful, accurate, and appropriate; and for maintaining clear and conspicuous disclosures of affiliate or compensated relationships wherever your links appear. A tracking-only external link does not mean that BetterLink sponsors or endorses you, that the destination sponsors or endorses you, or that either has an affiliate relationship with you.

When you use BetterLink with the Amazon Associates Program, you are solely responsible for following Amazon's current Operating Agreement and Program Policies. BetterLink is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon and does not guarantee acceptance, continued eligibility, attribution, commissions, or program availability.

You may not use BetterLink to manipulate, combine, or otherwise alter Amazon Associates tags, Amazon Attribution/MAAS links, Brand Referral Bonus links, or other attribution links in a way intended to claim commissions, bonuses, or attribution from multiple Amazon programs for the same traffic unless you have written authorization from Amazon. BetterLink may block, preserve, strip, skip, or require manual review for links that appear to contain Amazon Attribution, MAAS, brand-referral, or other special attribution parameters.

BetterLink is not responsible for determining whether a particular Amazon URL structure is permitted for your account or campaign. When BetterLink flags an attribution URL, you are responsible for choosing a compliant action.

7. Intellectual Property

Our Property

BetterLink, including our website, software, logos, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose during your subscription.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you provide to BetterLink, such as link notes and affiliate tags. By using the service, you grant us a license to use this content as necessary to provide the service to you.

Feedback

If you provide us with suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the service, you grant us the right to use and incorporate such feedback without any obligation to you.

8. Third-Party Services

BetterLink integrates with and relies on third-party services, including infrastructure, analytics, authentication, payment, Amazon, Google, and YouTube services. Their terms and privacy policies may apply. A visitor who follows a BetterLink may be sent to Amazon or to another destination selected by the BetterLink customer; that destination controls the visitor's experience after redirect. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, legality, security, or conduct of a third-party service or destination.

By using BetterLink, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

BETTERLINK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY SPECIFIC RESULTS, DESTINATION AVAILABILITY, AFFILIATE COMMISSIONS, ATTRIBUTION, ANALYTICS RESULTS, OR CONVERSION RATES. THIS SECTION DOES NOT DISCLAIM A WARRANTY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTERLINK AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED.

11. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BetterLink and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your destinations or content, your participation in affiliate or platform programs, your violation of these Terms or law, or your infringement of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by BetterLink's unlawful conduct.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitation of liability and indemnification) shall survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you by email. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the service and cancel your subscription.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to non-waivable law, disputes must be brought in state or federal courts located in Delaware. If you are a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of mandatory protections or a court venue that the law of your residence does not permit you to waive.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BetterLink regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements.
